adoption party - the search continues

I came home from school this weekend to go to an adoption party for my cousin's two new kids.
While sitting at home with my mom watching TV after the party, I asked her about the information she has gathered thus far.

I got:
  • the name of the judge
  • the name of the lawyer
  • the name of the specific court - orphans court
So I went googling. I got the address of the court, this may be of some help if I decide face to face is the only way things are going to get done. I was also provided with a link to a pdf file of the local rules on adoption. Finding birth parents wasn't listed in the 36 page document. The name of the lawyer was no help either, he doesn't exist according to Google, unless it was spelled wrong in which case he wasn't a lawyer but a Jewish athlete.
The faq page says to refer to procedures on adoption page, there are no procedures listed on the adoption page. I feel like everyone is giving me the run around.

Next step: Call Orphan's court during normal operating hours.

My 22 Birthday!

Today is my twenty-second birthday.
Today I am setting out on a quest. I am determined to find my birth mother. 12 year old me would be disgraced that I turned 18 four years ago and have yet to accomplish this task.

Unfortunately finding by birth mom is not as easy as using my favorite search engine.

My first step was to go to adoption.com and see what kind of information they had for me. The information was bountiful, but I still couldn't find a nice check list of steps for what to do.
It looks like I have to petition the court for my records. How do I do that though?

They really don't make it easy for someone to find their birth parents.
I hope someday I can use all of my experience and write a nice check list of what to do.

Any one reading this have any advice on the topic?
